Nokia Refocus app now available, allows users to shift focus of a photo after capturing it

Nokia Refocus Windows Phone app
Nokia's got a fairly extensive collection of applications that it's released into the Windows Phone Store, including Nokia Camera, Nokia Cinemagraph and Nokia Trailers.
Today the Finnish firm is adding one more to the list with the release of Nokia Refocus. As its name suggests, Nokia Refocus enables users to snap a photo and then focus and re-focus the image later on.
When using Nokia Refocus, mobile photographers must first focus their camera on the object that's closest to them, then move the camera closer until things clear up so that they can determine how close to get to the object before snapping the photo. When the closest object is in focus, users can then begin the photo-taking process that involves the app creating a "depth map" of two to eight photos that are five megapixels each and have different focus points. Those images and then combined to create a single Nokia Refocus shot.
In addition to the ability to shift the focus of a photo after taking it, Nokia Refocus includes a "Color Pop" feature that can transform a color photo to a black and white one save for one certain part of the image. Users simply tap on the part of the photo that they'd like to keep colored in and then the app will make the rest of the photo black and white.
Once a photo is taken with Nokia Refocus, it's uploaded to SkyDrive and given its own page at refocus.nokia.com. Users can then view the photo a full resolution and share is over email, SMS or Facebook. Overall the app sounds like another nice addition to Nokia's suite of Windows Phone software. It may not be quite as "hardcore" a photography app as something like Nokia Camera, but it does show that Nokia is still serious about mobile photos and it looks like it could be a lot of fun to use.
The Nokia Refocus app is now available for download from the Windows Phone Store for Lumia PureView devices. That includes the Lumia 920, Lumia 925, Lumia 928, Lumia 1020 and the forthcoming Lumia 1520. If your Lumia is a part of Club PureView, you can grab Nokia Refocus at the Windows Phone Store link below.
