Google Search app update rolling out with new Google Now cards, Waze traffic incidents and more

Google Search Android app update
Heads up, Android users, because tonight Google announced a new update for its Google Search app,
and it's a biggie. According to the Big G, this new version of the Google Search app brings with it several Google Now cards and other enhancements. For example, a new "Website Update" card will deliver the newest posts from a particular site, while a "News Topic" card will show headlines from around the web on a user's favorite topics. There's also a "What To Watch" card that will give movie and TV recommendations.
Those cards aren't the only goodies that are packed into this Google Search update. Google has also taken advantage of its recent Waze acquisition in order to show traffic incidents using real-time road data. Users can also use the refreshed Google Search app to set repeat reminders, get real-time rugby scores and find out when packages are ready for in-store pickup.
Google regularly updates its Search app with new Google Now cards and other useful features, and this latest version of the Google Search app is a keeps that trend alive. It's also good to see El Goog continue to bake Waze traffic data into its apps following its recent Google Maps update that also added in traffic incident reports.
The Google Search update is now rolling out to devices running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or higher. As is usually the case with software updates, this fresh version of Google Search could take a little time to travel from Google's ovens to your phone, so don't fret if you're not seeing it quite yet. Once it does land, be sure to give me a shout in the comments below to let me know what you think of the new cards and other goodies!
