BLU Life Pro unveiled with 5-inch 720p display, quad-core processor and 6.9mm-thick frame

Blu Life Pro official

BLU Products today took the wraps off of the BLU Life Pro, the latest addition to its lineup of affordable Android-powered hardware. The Life Pro features a 5-inch 720p display and a beefy 5-megapixel camera on its face that BLU says has an "extremely wide" field of view, making it a good companion for those selfie sessions. Around on the back of the Life Pro is a 12-megapixel shooter with LED flash.
Diving into the Life Pro's 6.9mm aluminum frame, which BLU Products says makes the Life Pro the thinnest 5-inch HD smartphone on the market, brings us to its 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor and PowerVR SGX544 GPU. Paired with that chipset is 1GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage, FM radio, support for 850/1900MHz or 850/2100MHz 42Mbps HSPA+ and a 2500mAh battery that provides the juice to power the whole package. The BLU Life Pro comes preloaded with Android 4.2.
BLU Products says that the Life Pro is now making its way to dealers in the U.S., Brazil and Mexico and will be sold through online retailers such as Amazon. Pricing for the Life Pro will be set at $299, which seems pretty reasonable for an unlocked smartphone with a 5-inch 720p display and quad-core processor. It's also worth noting that the Life Pro appears to be running a fairly vanilla build of Android 4.2, if that sort of thing is important to you.
